The right answer to a stem cell therapy question usually depends on the product, diagnosis and procedure. Use these guides to prepare for a clinical discussion and to identify which claims still need evidence.

Choose your question
- What does a success rate mean?
- Does stem cell therapy work?
- Is it safe?
- What side effects should I ask about?
- How does it work?
- How long do effects last?
- Am I a candidate?
- Is it legal in Thailand?
Start with the treatment name
Ask for the exact product, where the cells come from, how they are prepared and where they are delivered. Then ask which study supports that same use. Evidence about one preparation does not automatically answer a question about another.
The treatment directory separates local injections, IV infusions and immune-cell approaches. The comparison guides help distinguish options that may appear together in advertisements.
Bring your priorities to the conversation
Describe what you hope to change in daily life and what trade-offs you would accept. Ask the clinician to explain the likely benefit, uncertainty and alternatives in relation to those priorities. A technical explanation is useful only if it helps you decide.
- What happens if I continue usual care?
- What evidence would change your recommendation?
- What would make me unsuitable?
- What outcome will we measure?
- Who takes responsibility for follow-up?
Before making a commitment
Ask for the written plan, consent information and itemised estimate. Take time to review them with a clinician familiar with your history. An enquiry or assessment can result in advice not to proceed. The cost guides cover payment and coverage questions.
