Stem cell and exosome treatments are sometimes advertised together, but they are different product categories. A comparison should start with what each preparation contains and which use has actually been studied.

Compare the preparation
| Question | Cell preparation | Exosome preparation |
|---|---|---|
| What is proposed? | A defined population of living cells | Cell-derived vesicles; ask how the product is characterised |
| What needs identifying? | Cell source, processing and composition | Source, purification and composition |
| What evidence applies? | Studies of the matching product and use | Studies of the matching vesicle product and use |
Ask for the product documentation. A marketing label alone does not establish that a vial contains the advertised material.
Evidence and regulatory claims
The US FDA consumer alert describes misleading regenerative-product marketing and explains that exosome products intended to treat disease are subject to regulation. US guidance does not determine a product’s status in Thailand. US FDA: stem cell and exosome consumer alert.
Request the evidence for your diagnosis and the applicable Thai authorisation or research pathway. A paper about cells releasing vesicles is not the same as a clinical trial of the manufactured preparation you are being offered.
Questions for an assessment
- Why is this product proposed over established options?
- What human outcomes were measured?
- Does the supporting study match this preparation and route?
- What testing is used to identify and release the product?
- How are adverse effects and lack of benefit managed?
Ask how uncertainties appear in the consent document. Compare the plans with an independent clinician before deciding that one category is inherently better.
Cost and practical differences
Request separate estimates for assessment, preparation, administration and follow-up. A price per vial does not reveal equivalent potency or benefit across different products. See the cost guides and the exosome overview.
Common questions
Are exosomes simply stem cells without the risks?
No. A different product category has its own quality, safety and evidence questions.
Which is better?
There is no universal answer. It depends on a supported use for a specific product, not a category-wide ranking.
Ask about an assessment
For questions about the review process, availability or a written estimate, message Thailand Stem Cell Clinic. Ask how to share records securely. An enquiry does not confirm eligibility or that a particular treatment is offered.
